Hi everyone, we are very pleased to announce that our new publication in Marine Mammal Science is out, written with colleagues from Western Australia and Hawaii. Myself and my supervisor from Murdoch University, Josh Smith, have been working on this for a very long time, so we are overjoyed that it is finally published.
This was inspired by a humpback whale birth that Angel and I, and in fact my family (!) who were on holiday in Mexico, witnessed in 2015 close to Punta de Mita, Nayarit, Mexico.
In total, we could find only nine fully documented births worldwide. Although, we did have to drop a further three cases which we are sure were births, due to lack of photographic evidence.
